Color Changing Slime

Today Mrs. Weilacher's class made heat sensitive color changing slime.

If your child brought some home put ice in a zip lock bag and lay the slime on the ice.
Then microwave a place for 20-30 seconds put the slime on the plate...
there should be a significant color difference if they added the heat sensitive color.

Here's the link for the recipe

Animal Enrichment with Mrs. Perry's Class

Mrs. Perry's class has been learning about crayfish, their behaviors, and their habitats
Students watched this video from the Franklin Park Zoo about Animal Enrichment.

Then we discussed what behaviors they would want to enrich with their
Crayfish Playground Design Challenge and the results were:
1. Climbing
2. Hiding

Then we toured materials and discussed possible challenges, which included:
1. Water proof only materials as their habitat is aquatic
2. Nothing that could get stuck in their claws
3. Nothing that they would mistake for food.

Here they are at work:

Getting ready for Open House
